The Peabody is a Historic Hotel with 464 guest rooms and over 500,000 sq. ft.

 

What were you using for communication before Relay?

We used to have traditional two-way walkie-talkies. While we were looking at upgrading our radios to digital signal, we came across Relay, which fit the needs required by our team so that we could set up multiple channels between departments.

 

What jobs does Relay help your teams perform? 

Relay became part of our dispatching system for guest and associate requests. Everything from needing more towels to a leaky faucet is all communicated to the right departments through the Relays.

 

What can Relay do that a standard walkie-talkie or cell phone cannot?

Since relay also utilizes WiFi, we are able to still have a signal where the cell phones did not. We are also able to use them for pick-ups at the airport instead of utilizing a separate cell phone.

We are able to streamline the guest experience by utilizing group chats as well as individual chats. This produces a better and quicker response for our guests.

Service is the core of our industry and all too often the two-way radio folks just want to sell you a package and walk away. With Relay it really is a partnership and the team is agile, looking into a possible need and being able to edit what is needed to ensure it works is great. Service typically separates great companies from good companies and Relay has great service.
